AN ICONIC Glasgow building will be lit up purple in tribute to Prince.

The Riverside Museum, located on the banks of the River Clyde, will see its interior flooded in purple light in honour of Prince.

Glasgow Times:

Disco legends including Candi Staton and legendary Studio 54 DJ Jellybean Benitez will also descend on the venue for Scotland's first ever Purple Party on Saturday.

Pop superstar Prince died at the age of 57 after being found collapsed in a lift at his home in Minnesota in April.

Those performing at the Purple Party will entertain Glasgow fans with their own smash records as well as giving the Prince of Purple a nod by covering some of his best loved hits.

Event organiser Mark Mackechnie said: "The Riverside Museum is a spectacular backdrop for a party and the perfect site for the first ever Summer Jam. The event will showcase the very best soul, disco and funk music, and will be a fitting tribute to the purple Prince himself."

In addition to a jam packed musical line-up, purple party-goers can also make the most of the free outdoor roller rink, pop-up vintage sweet shop, photo booth, face painters and a cocktail bar – as well as the opportunity to party amongst some of the world's finest cars and on a re-created street from the 1900s.

The last remaining tickets are available from http://tickets-scotland.com/ priced at £25.00.

The event will run from 5pm to 1am and is strictly 18 years and over.
