GLASGOW Fort workers are planning to scale Ben Lomond to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland.

The trekking group of almost 100 people will travel on Sunday to the mountain in their bus loads in a bid to raise £3000 for its nominated charity.

Ben Lomond, a munro which offers views of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, will take the fundraisers at least five hours to complete.

Phil Goodman, Centre Manager at Glasgow Fort, said: “We are all really looking forward to the walk and raising money for this fantastic cause. It is great so many of our operational staff and retailers are on board and it is set to be a great day out.

“We ask our customers to excuse any staff wearing slippers on Monday as they may well be in recovery.

“Alzheimer and dementia are affecting more and more families every year and almost everyone you speak to has their own story to tell. The work of Alzheimer Scotland is so important in tackling this condition.”

Alzheimer Scotland is Glasgow Fort’s charity of the year. More than 30 staff underwent Dementia Friends training in order to understand the condition more fully and be able to support customers with the condition and their families.

Glasgow Fort has more than 90 leading shopping and leisure brands including a flagship Marks & Spencer, Scotland’s first KIKO MILANO beauty store, Asian fusion eatery Wagamama and jewellers Pandora and Swarovski.
