Independent charity Crimestoppers is offering up a reward of up to £10,000 for information on the murder of Caroline Glachan, 20 years on from her death.

The 14-year-old was found dead on the banks of the River Leven in Dunbartonshire on Sunday August 25 1986.

The killer, who inflicted serious head injuries on the schoolgirl, has never been brought to justice.

Last week, police said they were following up more than 20 calls after the murder inquiry was featured on the BBC’s Crimewatch programme.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information given to the charity that leads to an arrest and conviction.

Information passed directly to the police will not qualify.
