A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after being trapped by a runaway car.
The 37-year-old had to be freed by passersby when she became stuck between her car and another vehicle on New Street in Paisley's town centre.
Around 20 people rushed to help her after the vehicle started rolling down hill around 12.40pm today, trapping her between it and a parked car.
Emergency services arrived and took the woman to Paisley Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 12.40pm, police and emergency services responded to a report of a 37 year-old woman having been injured as she was trapped between her own moving vehicle and a parked car.
“She was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital to receive treatment for a possible serious leg injury.”
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
