TWO men were taken to hospital after a group pounced on them in Glasgow city centre.
Police are appealing for information about the incident which took place on Friday, September 23 at around 11.25pm.
The victims, aged 33 and 43, were walking in Hope Street near to its junction with Waterloo Street, when they were approached by a group of men.
After assaulting them, the group pushed the two men to the ground.
The 33-year-old was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for a head injury then later released.
The 43-year-old man suffered from minor injuries.
Detective Sergeant Colin MacRitchie, Glasgow City Centre CID is asking for anyone who may have seen anything to come forward.
He said: "Enquiries are continuing into this incident and officers are studying CCTV images to gather more information on the men responsible for this attack.
"We believe that the suspects had been in one of the pubs in Hope Street between Argyle Street and Waterloo Street.
"I would ask anyone who witnessed this attack, or who had any information that may assist our police investigation to contact City Centre Police Office on 101.
"Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
