SCOTTISH celebrities are urging people to have a cuppa to raise vital funds for a charity.

Quarriers 10 Minute Teabreak launched on Monday and the charity is looking for people to throw get-together’s to raise funds.

A whole host of celebrities have shown their support to the event by giving an insight into how they like their cuppas.

Andy Murray’s mum Judy said: "I like tea mid-afternoon. Good old English Breakfast, with milk and a sugar, but strong enough ‎so you can actually taste it. And preferably with cake. Victoria sponge with fresh cream and raspberry jam. Perfect."

Comedian and impressionist Rory Bremner added: “I can’t get through the day without tea. Earl Grey in the morning, Earl Grey & Lapsang (same mug) in the afternoon. Live dangerously!”

Also joining the par-tea and backing the campaign are ITV’s Lorraine Kelly and former Rangers football star Ally McCoist.

Quarriers Chief Executive Alice Harper said “We know everyone is busy these days, but taking just 10 minutes out of your day to share time together over a cup of tea, and preferably some cake, would not only benefit you, but also help raise vital funds for Quarriers.

“Quarriers provides practical care and support for vulnerable children, adults and families who face extremely challenging circumstances. By hosting your own 10 Minute Teabreak and raising funds you really will make a huge difference to the lives of the people who need it most.”
