A THUG head-butted another reveller in an unprovoked attacked in a nightclub.
The 21-year-old victim was targeted at around 1.30am on Sunday, September 25 within Madison's Nightclub on Carrick Street in Ayr.
Police were called to the night spot after receiving reports a man had been injured.
They say the 21-year-old victim was approached by an unknown man who head-butted him to the face causing injury.
The man was later taken to Ayr Hospital and was released following treatment.
Detective Constable Bill Stokes, of Ayr Police Office, is leading the enquiry and said: "This appears to have been an unprovoked attack on an individual within Madison's nightclub.
"At this time our enquiries are continuing into this incident and to identify those involved.
"I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information that may assist police enquiries to contact Ayr Police Office through the non-emergency number 101.
"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
