Three youths have been arrested after offensive football-related graffiti was scrawled on the walls of the St Timothy’s Primary in the Greenfields area of Glasgow the city’s East End.
Pupils at the Catholic school were kept inside to avoid them becoming distressed following Sunday’s incident.
It comes as parents say the area is being “held to ransom” by rival gangs of up to 60 youths in the evenings and say local shops have also been targeted.
Police said three youths, two aged 13 and one 15-year-old have been reported to the Children’s Reporter Administration for alleged vandalism.
A spokeswoman said they had no record of any other incidents, but parents claim the school has been targeted a number of times and that it claimed the school has no CCTV cameras, although the council dispute this.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Three boys have been reported in connection with an alleged vandalism.
“A 15-year-old boy and two 13-year-old boys will be the subject of a report to the Children’s Reporter Administration in connection with the alleged vandalism.”
