A NEW Spanish restaurant specialising in food from the Celtic region of Asturias has opened its doors to diners.

Iberica Glasgow will offer delicacies including Iberico pork loin and El Botillo, a speciality from El Bierzo, chopped and marinated cuts of pork, lightly smoked before cooking and served in a similar style to haggis.

Diners can also grab a quick bocadillos (sandwiches) and pinchos (small portions) or shop in the delicatessen selling olive oils, hams, cured meats, preserved fish and vegetables.

Ibérica’s Executive Head Chef, Nacho Manzano, has an impressive three Michelin stars to his name.

Formerly a Royal Bank of Scotland, on the corner of Hope Street and St Vincent Street, the building has undergone a painstaking renovation including stunning interior designing from Spanish designer Lazaro Rosa Violan, one of the world’s top restaurant designers.

The interior brings across the ambiance of Spain with intricate detailing throughout, including a framed set of Asturian bagpipes – a nod to the Celtic roots of Ibérica’s owners in northern Spain.
