COPS armed with guns have used a sophisticated technique to stop a vehicle in its tracks in Glasgow’s East End.
Police Scotland's marksman, from the Armed Response Unit, fired shots at the wheels of a black car near a busy roundabout on Robroyston Road at around 10:55am on Friday.
They say it was part of an intelligence-led operation and no-one was hurt.
Residents in the area, which is mainly residential, saw cops from the armed response unit swarm the vehicle shortly after the incident while the police helicopter hovered above the scene.
One resident said: "It was pretty scary to see the plain clothes cops with balaclavas but total respect to the police that no one was injured in the incident."

Another resident added: "I heard the helicopter swarming above Asda last night then I woke up to this.
"There were cops everywhere but I thought someone had been involved in a car crash because of the amount cars on the road.
"It is usually a quiet area too and we never have any bother."

Officers used the technique which is called vehicle tyre deflation rounds to burst the tyres of the car.
Police, however, would not divulge the circumstances of what lead to the need for officers to stop the car.
They would not confirm how many people were in the car.
Shortly after the incident, police closed the road and guarded the area.
Forensic officers could be seen at the scene gathering evidence from the black car which is understood to be the vehicle that officers targeted.

CID also carried out their investigations at the scene which is close to the area’s infamous Asda where Glasgow gangster Kevin “Gerbil” Carroll was shot dead in Janaury, 2010.
William Paterson is serving a minimum of 22 years in jail after being convicted of his murder.
The shooting by officers means that they will now be investigated by the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC)
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 10.55am on Friday, September 30, Police Scotland Officers carried out an intelligence-led operation in the Robroyston area of Glasgow.
“As part of the operation, vehicle tyre deflation rounds were discharged directly into vehicle tyres.
"This is a recognised and practiced tactic which is used specifically to disable a vehicle and was deployed in order to reduce any potential wider impact to the public and to maximise their safety.
"As a result, and in line with the routine procedure, this incident will be referred to PIRC for review.”
A spokesman for the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (Pirc)
added: “Police Scotland has notified Pirc of an incident in Robroyston, Glasgow, on September 30, where officers fired tyre deflation rounds (TDR) at a vehicle as part of an ongoing police operation.
“The Pirc will assess the circumstances of the police use of TDRs before determining whether there is a need to investigate further.”
