POLICE probing an attempted murder in Paisley have arrested three more youths.

Two girls, aged 16 and 17 years old, and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested and are presently detained in police custody in connection with the incident.

Their alleged victim was walking on Forbes Place, near to its junction with Causeyside Street at around 8.25pm on Saturday, September 24.

It is alleged he was involved in an altercation with a group who then seriously assaulted him.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he is being treated for head injuries.

Hospital staff described his condition as serious.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal and the group were expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today. 

Police previously revealed that they had arrested two girls - aged 15 and 16 - in connection with the same incident.

They were due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A 13-year-old boy was also arrested and was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Thursday.
