A RANGERS supporters bus has been involved in a serious crash on the way to Ibrox. 

The crash occurred at around 1.15pm today, on the A76 near Mauchline, Ayrshire. 

Police say that 18 people have been taken to hospital, with three individuals described as being in a serious condition. 

In total there were 36 people, plus the  driver, on board the coach at the time of the incident. 

One Twitter user Ryan Rowe wrote the bus had swerved at the roundabout, and that there were multiple injuries.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Around 1.15pm on Saturday, police were made aware of a serious road crash involving a coach on the A76 near the Crossroads roundabout.

"Police remain at the scene."

Inspector Darren Faulds, Road Policing Unit, added: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the crash and anyone with any information is asked to call road policing officers at Irvine Police Office on 101.”

Rangers are playing Partick Thistle at home today. 

Fans from across the Old Firm divide were among those who took to social media to express their best wishes for those involved in the crash. 

According to some reports, the bus in question was carrying the Nith Valley Loyal Rangers supporters.

The road remains shut in both directions.
