DAVID WEIR is pleased to see Andy Halliday add goals to his game after he made in three from three in the win over Partick Thistle.

The midfielder followed up strikes against Ross County and Aberdeen with the second of the game at Ibrox on Saturday.

Halliday has impressed in the middle of the park in recent weeks and assistant manager Weir told rangers.co.uk: “Andy obviously brings a lot to the team with his enthusiasm and his energy but he has also got a lot of quality. It’s important we don’t underestimate that.

“He’s a very important player for us in that position. Ultimately that’s not his job [to get goals] but it’s a nice thing to add to your game.

“He’s obviously played further up the pitch in his career so he’s got that attribute within his game.

“He’s very composed when he gets chances and he’s got a lovely left foot. Today was another example of that.”
