Hi, it’s Lynne here!

Yes… we managed to survive another week of early rises on the breakfast show covering for Robin and Adele. This week was all about the threes in my life; 3.30 alarm calls are great when you have a 3-month old baby and are on bacon roll no.3 of the week. Paul and I had a brilliant time doing the show, it was really great fun but not so good for the diet thanks to our producer’s daily bacon roll run. You know what it’s like when you’ve been up since the middle of the night though – we thought it was lunch-time by 10am!

Last Tuesday had to be my favourite day covering for Robin and Adele. We got invited along to the official screening of the new Still Game which is back on our TV screens tomorrow night. The preview took place at Cineworld in Glasgow and the cast members were there for a special Q&A afterwards. The new series is amazing, as was the evening.

Tango ice blast… check, popcorn… check, meeting the cast of Still Game… CHECK. No spoilers, I promise. Although I do have to warn you to bring a hanky to wipe the tears from your face - not because it’s sad but you’ll be crying with laughter. There’s some proper laugh out loud moments in there, especially with Jack in the bath! Right that’s it…I’m saying no more or I’ll have them ‘round chapping at my door!

After the show we managed to secure a wee selfie with Gavin Mitchell who plays Boaby the barman and Sanjeev Kohli who plays Navid. They are both such lovely and funny guys - hanky at the ready!

Channeling my inner Isa!

In our new lives pretending to be Robin and Adele we had the pleasure of visiting Eden Mill where we got to taste a range of their new mixology cocktails. This was topped off with a tour of the distillery, which was not too shabby for a Wednesday afternoon at all. The staff are just lovely there and we learned so much about what goes on behind the scenes plus had a great afternoon tasting some of the delights. We were so tempted to do the classic Jack and Victor and go around the tour again.

If you’ve seen that episode of Still Game (‘Drama’ from the 5th series) then you’ll know what I mean. They kept going round with different tours and getting all the free samples until the stage they could hardly walk! Although Paul and myself are of course super professional and would never dream of that, plus the private investigator posing as the tour guide was on to us… ‘have you two not already been on this tour?’ Aye. Caught out!

Glasgow Times:

Tour number 7…

Another week of Paul and Lynne’s celebrity cake off took place, it was my turn to decorate this week and I went all out using about a month’s supply of coloured icing pens. The guesses included…. Stevie Wonder, Beyoncé and Cheryl Cole. Other guesses included Bob Geldof, Brian May and the weekly favourite - Mick Hucknall! He has to be the most popular guess we have, so maybe one week we can do Mick from Simply Red…then probably no one will guess him!

Glasgow Times:

Surely it’s not Mick Hucknall again?
