FEARS are growing for the safety of a missing 24-year-old man.
Sean McKenna, from Coatbridge, has not been seen since early on Monday morning after spending the evening with a friend.
He sent a text to a friend at 5am but his family have not heard from him since then.
Sean, who lives in the Townhead area, has never gone missing before and his family are becoming increasingly concerned.
The police helicopter was scrambled on Tueday night and friends have organised a search for him at 2pm today and then later at 6pm.
A police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that Sean was reported missing to police on the evening of Monday 10 October 2016 and enquiries are being carried out by officers to trace him."
Anyone with information should call the police non-emergency number 101.
