SHOPPING centre Silverburn is to bring 60 new jobs to Glasgow thanks to high end retailers joining the mall.

A total of six new stores will bring dozens of new jobs to the Pollok centre.

So far this month HMV, Jack & Jones and Khiel's have started trading while The Fragrance Shop, The Entertainer toyshop and Levi's have planned  November openings.

David Pierotti, General Manager at Silverburn, said: "We are always delighted when retailers choose Silverburn and look forward to welcoming our six new tenants over the coming months.

"I have no doubt our customers will be thrilled to see these fantastic new brands in Silverburn and will make the most of them as we enter into Christmas shopping season."

He added: "We are particularly excited to welcome HMV and The Entertainer.

"Music and toys always prove popular with Silverburn shoppers, so we are really pleased to bring them two high quality, dedicated stores in these categories."

In addition to these six new openings, Silverburn has welcomed and announced a number of new tenants this year including Bella Italia, Tortilla, KIKO Milano, Debenhams concession Make Up For Ever and Jack Wills.

Stagecoach also recently announced a new weekend bus route direct to Silverburn.

The new X17 service operates from Ayr to Silverburn, via Prestwick and Kilmarnock, and on to East Kilbride and Hamilton.
