GLASGOW’S new reality show GLOW has attracted an audience of thousands – one day after it launched.

The show which aired on Thursday at 7pm via a dedicated channel and app reached an audience of 60,000 viewers on the first night alone.

A show insider also revealed that more than 5,000 people have already downloaded the app which will stream the episodes as well as additional features.

Dubbed the city’s answer to hit reality shows The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea, GLOW is the brainchild of production company GRTV who received more than 3,000 applications from people who wanted to take part in the reality show.

One of its stars nurse Stephanie Rankin spoke to the Evening Times exclusively following the show’s premiere.

The 23-year-old said in an interview, conducted live on the Evening Times Facebook page yesterday, that she is loving every minute of filming.

She said: “It has honestly been the best couple of weeks ever. I am quite a shy person so it has been nerve racking around the cameras but overall the cast and everyone is getting on great.”

She added: “I couldn’t be happier and prouder to be part of such an amazing cast and production team.

“I think we all did ourselves proud. Obviously there are things we need to change and get better on.”

In the show, the viewers saw boxer Paddy Reilly admit he was in a relationship with Stephanie.

She said: “Me and Paddy knew each other before the show started but we had never had a conversation.

“Before we just passed each other and saw each other.

“On the night of the show, he dropped me home and we spoke for three hours out in his car.

“I just felt as if I had known him for years, the connection was there and luckily he felt the same way.”

She added: “We just texted all the time, and he took me out on a real nice date in Edinburgh and it steamed from there really.

“I am a really lucky girl and he is such a gentleman I have never been treated like this before.

“My family and friends always say to me, and I know it is a bit cheesy but never settle for less than butterflies.

“Paddy gives me butterflies everytime he texts me or I hear from him.”

Stephanie feels she is the peacemaker within the cast and hopes that her positive personality will come across in the show.

She said: “I have not got a bad word to say about any of the cast.

“I get on with every single one of them, they all bring something different to the show.

“I am quite used to being around different personalities coming from a big family myself.”
