POLICE have launched an enquiry after a man was found seriously injured outside a pub in Beith.
In the early hours of Monday morning officers attended outside the Saracen's Head Hotel in the town's Eglinton Street to reports of an injured man outside the premises.
The 44-year-old was found to have a serious head injury and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital before being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland told the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald: "A 44-year-old man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital around 1.30am on Monday, October 24, after being found injured in Eglinton Street, Beith.
"He has since been transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he is being treated for a serious head injury.
"Detectives are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances and more information surrounding this incident."
