DETECTIVES have launched an attempted murder inquiry after a man was stabbed at home by a gang.

The 35-year-old victim is seriously ill in hospital after he was attacked by three men at a house in Hollybush Avenue in Paisley.

The men forced their way into the house at around 4.10pm on Monday. The victim was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital and is being treated for stab wounds.

Enquiries have revealed that two of the suspects were seen running away from the house up towards Nethercraigs Road.  

They are described as white, aged between 20 and 30 years old and both were wearing grey coloured track suits.  

There is currently no information on the third suspect. 

Detectives are carrying out door-to-door enquiries and studying CCTV images..
 
Detective Inspector Sandy Nelson said: “We have yet to establish a motive for this attack, however we believe the 35 year old man was targeted by the suspects.

"We are in the process of collecting CCTV footage from in and around the area which will be scrutinised by officers for any additional information which could assist the investigation.  

"I would like to appeal to the local community to get in touch, this incident occurred late afternoon when there would still have been lots of people around.  

"I am asking anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact us.”
