BRENDAN RODGERS has no worries that his far-travelled Celtic team will suffer fatigue going into next week's crucial Champions League crunch.

The Hoops will clock up hundreds of miles over the next four days starting off with a jaunt up to the Dingwall tonight to face Ross County before hitting the road again at the weekend bound for Pittodrie.

With Tuesday's game away to Borussia Monchengladbach firmly in his mind, Rodgers has revealed the Parkhead club will fly home tonight from the Highlands to help their recovery as the focus then shifts to Aberdeen.

It is far from ideal preparation for a game in Germany that could be decisive in Celtic's European campaign, but manager Rodgers is confident his players will not be unsettled by their busy schedule in the build up.

“It will be tough but that’s why we’re in it and it’s really enjoyable to be honest," he said.

“We work hard every day but when you get into the latter stages of competitions and playing for a club like Celtic every game is a big game. So we’re looking forward to going to Ross County and trying to keep this league form going.

“We’re going to have a nice drive up, enjoy the scenic route in the afternoon - and then we’re going to fly back.

“That will get us back here as early as we can for a good rest and then we’ll train later on Thursday afternoon. We’ll train Friday then go up to Aberdeen and then come back on Saturday night and we’re away to Germany on Monday.

“The recovery strategy is vital for your players and that starts straight after the game in the changing room with how you refuel.

“But the sports science boys take care of that.

"I suppose it just the draw, isn’t it? Listen, it is what it is. Of course, they are two long shifts.

"We considered staying up there, training and playing again. But we will fly back. We will be back in the early hours of the morning but we will recover and go again."

Rodgers has backed his players to come through the arduous treks north, but he is aware that utilising a squad deep with talent could be the key to navigating their way to six points over the coming days.

One man that could be rested ahead of the trip to Monchengladbach is red hot striker Moussa Dembele, who is already sitting with 14 goals to his name.

That would open the door for Leigh Griffiths to take up the goalscoring responsibility, but Rodgers was keeping his cards close to his chest when asked about the Scotland forward.

"Leigh will be involved in the squad," said the Celtic boss. "And he did very well when he came on on Sunday."

When asked about his squad, he added: "I have to be mindful of that. It is something me and the staff will look at because you are trying to prepare a team for the season.

"I have got trust in the guys who could come in. You think back to the start when I took a team who maybe weren’t starters to play Inter Milan. And they were outstanding.

"That’s why they have to be on their guard every day in training, because they can be asked to come in and play. I have no qualms if I have to make changes."
