A YOUNG Celtic fan who phoned Parkhead to apologise for missing a match got to meet his Hoops heroes today.

Louis Kayes had called the Scottish champions after missing their clash against Motherwell on Saturday, October 15 due to a friend's birthday party.

While the five-year-old season ticket holder was worried the team would have missed him in their 2-0 victory against the Steelmen, they weren't missing the Moodiesburn boy today as he visited their Lennoxtown training facility.

Ahead of the Celtic team's training session Louis and mum Lisa got to meet Brendan Rodgers, his favourite player Scott Brown as well as the rest of the first team.

The thoughtful fan even brought a congratulations card for the Hoops captain, who this week celebrated becoming a dad for the third time.

Mum Lisa told the Celtic View: “It’ll be good to have the pictures and the players signed his strip as well so he’s got the memories to take away with him from an amazing experience of coming here and meeting his favourite player and Brendan Rodgers.

“It has been amazing for him and I think we’ll be hearing about this for a long time. I’m chuffed to bits for him and I couldn’t believe it when Celtic phoned and said to bring him up to Lennoxtown.”
