Hitching a ride in a hearse is normally a journey that no-one looks forward to but that could be turned on its head by Tennent’s Lager this weekend.
The beer company has created a Spooky Taxi to roam the streets of Edinburgh and Glasgow picking up Hallowe’en revellers.
Their black cab has a sizeable 8ft difference; a real-life coffin installed in the back of a customised hearse.
With eerie sounds and a ghoulish chauffeur, the pick-up service is open to all – even those with no ‘body’ to’ go out with.
People in need of a lift should head to Tennent’s Twitter or Facebook and reply to the #SpookyTaxi post pleading their case.
Winners will then be assigned one of the four available slots each night.
The hearse will then pick up and drop off within a five-mile radius of either city-centre, promising an arrival set to raise even the darkest spirit on a Hallowe’en night out.
Alan McGarrie, Head of UK Brand Marketing at Tennent’s said: “We wanted to do something Dead good for Hallowe’en this year and since we know it’s absolutely murder getting a taxi on Halloween weekend, we thought we’d lend a (severed) hand. Our Spooky Taxi service will mysteriously vanish after this weekend, so to guarantee a sighting head to our Facebook and Twitter to body bag a lift.”
The Tennent’s Spooky Taxi will be (a)live in Glasgow on Friday between 8pm and midnight and in Edinburgh on Saturday at the same times.
