Members of British pop band, S Club will kicking off the festive season in Hamilton as they help switch on this year’s Christmas lights in the town.

Previous members of the original S Club 7, Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett, will take to the stage in the town square on Saturday November 19.

The festivities will be hosted by Heart Radio’s Paul Harper before the Christmas lights are switched on at 6pm in Castle Square, following a jam-packed line-up of entertainment throughout the day.

A stage show, craft market and dry ski slope in Quarry Street will be on hand to keep crowds entertained before the main act.

Gareth Walker, BID Manager at Hamilton Business Improvement District, said: “We’re very pleased to announce that Jo, Brad and Tina of S Club will be lighting up Hamilton this year as they switch on the Christmas lights and mark the official start of the festive season in the town and we’re inviting everyone to join in the Christmas spirit.”

The S Club three reunited last year and have performed together at a series of gigs up and down the country.

In their five years together between 1998 and 2003, the original S Club 7 had four UK number-one singles, one UK number-one album, and a string of hits throughout Europe.

They recorded four studio albums, released 11 singles and went on to sell more than 10 million albums worldwide.
