Celtic once again illustrated their dominance over the rest of the Ladbrokes Premiership as they stretched their lead to 10 points on Saturday while Rangers dropped down to third after being held by Ross County.

Here are five other things we learned from the weekend action.

1. Stuart Armstrong is the blonde Cafu

Okay, Brendan Rodgers might not have been entirely serious with his comparison but he was sincere in his praise for Armstrong's display at right-back in Celtic's 3-0 win over Inverness. After both manager and player decided that central midfield was the way forward for Armstrong following spells on the left flank under Ronny Deila, the former Dundee United player showed he had another string to his bow with a solid defensive display and some energetic over-lapping.

2. Craig Wighton is ready to shine

Much was expected of the Dundee forward when he broke into the first team as a 16-year-old. And his performance in the 2-0 win over Motherwell suggests he will not disappoint. The 19-year-old showed tremendous skill, penetration and end product as he set up both goals and only Craig Samson's excellent stop denied him a deserved goal.

3. The ball needs to hit the net for a goal to be awarded

Or so Motherwell might feel after being denied an opener at Dens Park. Dundee goalkeeper David Mitchell backpedalled well over the line with the ball in his hands after catching Scott McDonald's cross but neither referee John Beaton nor assistant Ross Haswell were confident enough to signal for a goal to the incredulity of most inside the ground.

4. Two up front is back in vogue

With Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele partnered for Celtic and Jayden Stockley joining Adam Rooney up front for Aberdeen, there was encouragement for those fans who are growing tired of lone strikers ploughing an isolated furrow up front. The likes of Motherwell, Dundee and Partick Thistle also employed two strikers over the weekend.

5. Rangers are struggling to find the room to breath

Mark Warburton was praised for his side's passing philosophy last year but they are in danger of being too easily sussed out. The Englishman wants his men to play out from the back but Ross County gave them all sorts of headaches during Sunday's 1-1 draw as they pressed Gers high up. Keeper Wes Foderingham almost came a cropper on three occasions and if Gers continue taking such needless risks it will not be long before they find themselves in even deeper bother than they currently are.
