ACTOR Alan Cumming OBE is set to meet the public in Glasgow next month.

BAFTA Scotland are bringing the Smurfs star to the city's Oran Mor as part of their 'In Conversation' event on Sunday, November 27.

After three decades in the entertainment industry, the actor, writer and director has featured in films such as Spy Kids and X-Men, as well as Broadway productions as varied as Cabaret and the Threepenny Opera.

He is the author of memoir Not My Father’s Son, and starred as a golden kilt-wearing Dionysus in the National Theatre of Scotland’s notorious and spectacular The Bacchae at the 2007 International Festival. 

This year, Cumming took up a residence in The Hub for the month of August at Edinburgh International Festival with a late-night cabaret, Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs.
