A MAN will need to retake his driving test if he wants to hit the roads again after being involved in a police chase in Glasgow’s South Side.

Dylan Walker, 24, of Fern Drive, admitted his guilt in the dock of Glasgow Sheriff Court.

The Procurator Fiscal depute told the court that police officers on mobile patrol at around 3am on August 16, 2015 spotted Walker’s red Mercedes enter a roundabout at speed on Darnley Road.

They activated their siren and a chase ensued.

Walker admitted he drove the car dangerously and did drive at excessive speeds in a bid to escape the police.

His charge stated he exited the roundabout onto Whiteriggs Road at excessive speed then on to Willowford Road and Wiltonburn Road.

He reversed and pulled out onto Nitshill Road and again drove at excessive speeds.

He was also charged with failing to stop the car when asked to do so by a uniformed officer.

His charge sheet also stated that he drove the car while under the influence of alcohol.

His defence agent said: “He is extremely embarrassed to be here today.”

He was fined a total of £600 and giving a driving ban of 18 months.

The sentencing sheriff also warned Walker that he would need to retake the extended driving test.
