Scots band The King Lot and social group The Jollyboys have thanked fans for their continued support as the countdown to clinching the Christmas Number One draws closer.

The collective group are set to release single Wings in aid of The MS Society on pre order from Monday November 14 - and have just finished filming their music video where they invited people affected by MS to star in the crowd scenes.

During a special event at Glasgow’s SWG3, MS Society supporters and music fans got to be part of the Wings music video - and enjoy a preview of the highly anticipated song.

Their ambitious attempt for the Christmas top spot has caught the attention of bookies William Hill who have given them 9/1 odds on hitting number one.

Following the pre-release, a single launch with special guests will take place at The Jam House in Edinburgh on Thursday November 24 with tickets at no charge.

Music-mad group The Jolly Boys have already raised over £2,000 for MS Society Scotland through various fundraising events, and are delighted to have starring roles in the song.

Tony Green of The Jolly Boys, said: “We are all excited, very confident and happy that all of the many months of planning and hard work are about to all come together.

“There are so many people with generous spirits who have helped with the Wings project from day one and on behalf of The Jollyboys and The King Lot would like to thank each and every one of them.”

Tony added: “We have had people travelling hundreds of miles to help us and support us and you cannot put into words how humble myself and the team feel.”

Morna Simpkins Director for MS Society Scotland said: “We are delighted that The King Lot featuring The Jolly Boys are bidding for the Christmas Number 1 slot in aid of the MS Society. This is a fundraising venture which is fun, unique and something which we can all get involved in by purchasing the single.

“MS is unpredictable and can affect how people think, feel and see. For more than 11,000 people in Scotland, living with the neurological condition is a daily reality – so every download of ‘Wings’ contributes to funding research, staffing our helpline or enabling our grants team to give awards.”

Morna added: “We wish the both The King Lot and The Jolly Boys the very best of luck and would like to thank them once again for their passion, hard work and dedication in raising awareness of
