Ryan Lawrie said he is rooting for his girlfriend Emily Middlemas to win The X Factor after he was eliminated from the contest.
The Scottish singer was booted off the ITV competition after a tense sing-off with controversial rapper Honey G.
He said he was now throwing his support behind Emily, who he has been dating after they met on the show.
“I just hope Emily goes on and wins it now,” he said.
He also thanked everyone involved in the programme, saying: “You changed my life.”

Ryan, 20, found himself in the bottom two after his performance of Elvis Presley’s Jailhouse Rock for the programme’s Movie Week theme.
He pulled out all the stops with his moving rendition of Ed Sheeran’s Lego House in the sing-off but it was no match for Honey G’s mash-up of Missy Elliott tracks Get Your Freak On and Work It.
She won the votes of judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, with only Ryan’s mentor Nicole Scherzinger opting to send her packing.
Simon said he was a fan of both contestants and wanted the vote to go to deadlock, which would mean the decision coming down to the public vote.
He noted that Ryan had found himself having to sing for his place in the competition before and said he felt that Honey deserved her spot.

He said: “For me, the one who felt they wanted to stay in more, based on that, was Honey G.”
There are now just five acts remaining in the competition – Honey G and Finnish hopeful Saara Aalto in Sharon’s over-25s, Matt Terry in Nicole’s boys category, Emily in Simon’s girls category and Louis’s group 5 After Midnight.
The results show also featured performances from Craig David and Alicia Keys, who advised the contestants to embrace their uniqueness and not try to be like anyone else.
X Factor host Dermot O’Leary joked to the US star: “Will you run for Prime Minister please?”
Alicia quipped back: “I might have to, the way things are going.”
