A NITSHILL man smashed the break cover of a fire alarm and racially abused take-away shop staff after they would not allow him to use their phone.
Liam Evans, 23, of Whitacres Road, committed the offence at Spice Routes on Duke Street on February 1 2015.
Evans and a co-accused, who was not in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court, entered the take-away and asked to use the telephone.
When they were refused, Evans said: “You f**king black b*****d f*****g a*******s.”
He also broke the fire alarm cover as he left the shop.
Sentencing Sheriff Raymond A McMenamin was told he must complete 160 hours of unpaid work in the community within six months.
An additional charge of failing to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court without a reasonable excuse was admonished.
