A GUITAR signed by rock legends Coldplay is to be auctioned off for a Glasgow charity.

The Clutha Trust, founded by Clutha bar owner Alan Crossan in the wake of the 2013 tragedy, is to sell the guitar today.

The supergroup fronted by Chris Martin signed the Finlayson guitar in June when the they performed before thousands of fans at Hampden.

Music lovers were wowed by the stadium spectacular, which was part of a worldwide tour.

Alan Crossan said: "The funds raised from the sale will go towards funding arts and music projects in Glasgow.

"We're hoping we get a good amount of interest in the lot as the money will be put towards excellent causes which are helping disadvantaged children all over Glasgow."

Colplay are one of dozens of world famous bands and celebrities who have lent their support to the charity since2013.

Noel Gallagher, the Stereophonics, Prince Charles, Muse and Peter Nardini are among the star-studded list who have given the charity the thumbs up.

The auction comes just days before the third anniversary of the Clutha tragedy, in which 10 people were killed.

On November 29 2013, a police helicopter crashed through the roof of the city centre pub in which revellers were enjoying a drink and live music.

Families of those who died in the tragedy have recently spoken out about the delays in holding a Fatal Accident Inquiry into circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
