This is the terrifying moment rescuers caught a 100kg python after it gorged on a goat.

Horrified locals spotted the 15 foot serpent as it snaffled one of their cherished farm animals.

The bloated beast slithered away and took refuge in a swamp to digest its supper in a remote village in Baling district of Malaysia

But locals called emergency services and seven snake handlers spent an HOUR grappling with the four-metre long serpent.

They finally subdued the killer reptile and posed for pictures with it looking stodged - with a huge lump in its belly from the undigested goat.

Baling district Malaysian Civil Defence Force officer Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz said the python was found about 100m away from residential homes - and caught after a lengthy battle.

He added: ''A team of seven officers were deployed to the scene after receiving a call alerting them to the discovery of the python, which had swallowed a goat belonging to one of the villagers.

''After arriving at the scene 15 minutes later, the team found the snake in the swampy and bushy area.

''Efforts to trap the snake took about an hour due to the dark surroundings and soft ground at the swamp''.

The python will now be handed to the Baling Wildlife and National Parks Department.
