MARYHILL Christmas lights will be switched on my one of Scotland’s favourite mascots.
Kingsley, Partick Thistle’s infamous mascot will be helping to bring Christmas cheer to the town.
He will be at the Woodside Library from 4.30pm to help bring in the festivities while also taking the opportunity to indulge in some mulled wine and mince pies.
The lights will be switched on by Woodside Community Council member, Robert Alston, outside St George’s Cross before everyone is welcomed back to the library to see Kingsley and a possible second special guest. Kingsley said: “This has to be one of my favourite times of year. What’s even better is that I get to spend time with the locals during the Christmas light switch-on.
“Rumour has it that my pal Santa will also be making an appearance. I know he’s super busy at this time of year, but when he heard I was going to be in Maryhill, he spoke to Rudolph and the other reindeer to pull in a favour and has scheduled Thursday for a quick visit. “
