IT'S finally here and I've only waited 12 whole months for it.

Yes, it's officially December which means I can now safely shout from the snow covered roof top in full pelt, Noddy Holder fashion, “It’s Chriiiiiiiiiiiistmas!”

To be honest, I'm busy screaming about how much I love the festive season but the reality is I'm the most disorganised person ever and have yet to buy a single solitary present for anyone.

I'll deal with all of that over the next few days but for now December has already got off to a fantastic start.

Last night I had the honour of hosting the Evening Times Community Champion Awards at the Glasgow City Chambers.

The Glasgow Community Champion Awards recognise and reward groups and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution in their community.

I have been so honoured to be involved with the community champs events over the past few years and as many of you will know, the Glasgow Community Champion Awards 2016 were launched in February this year in the North East area of the city.

Since then, events have taken place in the South and North West of the city which I've been very proud to host but this is the first time I've ever been able to host the grand final as I'm usually always running about panto land playing either a fairy, a pirate or a mermaid, yes that actually happened.

Last night's Grand Final was a culmination of the three previous area events and it was just so fantastic to see all of the winners, from all of the events together celebrating at the City Chambers last night.

Well done to each and everyone of you as you are all truly winners.

Today sees the launch of the Festive Footwear campaign by CHAS.

The Children's Hospice Association Scotland is a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people who have life-shortening conditions for which there is no known cure.

CHAS runs two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch, and a home care service called CHAS at Home and together they supports over 415 families across Scotland.

Festive Footwear Friday hopes to raise much needed funds for this incredible organisation so all you have to do is pledge a £2 donation to CHAS and pop on your novelty slippers, festive socks or party shoes for the day.

You can have a right old laugh with colleagues and friends while helping to spread happiness to children with a life-shortening condition and their families at Christmas time and all year round.

Go on, get those elf slippers on and walk into that Friday sales meeting in style!

As for tonight well, Cinderella shall go to the ball (I just can't shake off the panto chat can I?) as I'm off to perform at the beautiful and very festive Cardinal Winning Charity Ball at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

It's the 39th Cardinal Winning Charity Ball and this annual event has raised well over £1 million for local charities since 1977.

I'll be there to kick off the night in style with a few festive numbers before I have to make a Santa dash across the squinty bridge to BBC Radio Scotland as I'm back in the Music Match hot seat for the next few weeks.

The show kicks off at 10pm and as I get to choose the playlist you can bet your bottom dollar there will be a few Christmas crackers in the mix.

December is undoubtedly my favourite month of the year and this year it's extra special for me as I'm producing my first ever Christmas show with the fabulous Soundsational Choir.

Michelle McManus’ Winter Wonderland at the Old Fruitmarket is currently sold out but we’ve just released a handful of standing tickets for the beautiful balcony upstairs so if you're very quick you might still be able to grab a tickets for this evening of Christmas comedy and brilliant sing along festive classics.

Thank you to everyone who has already bought tickets. I've been overwhelmed with the support and response from everyone and I promise it will be a truly fantastic party night.

For tickets call the box office on 0141 353 8000. For more information about CHAS you can follow them on twitter @SupportCHAS
