A CHRISTMAS card designed by a Glasgow schoolboy will send festive cheer from Lord Provost Sadie Docherty around the world.
Lennon Costello, 9, from John Paul II primary created the winning design in a competition Mrs Docherty set for schools in her Linn ward.
The youngster's drawing of a snowman was inspired by his aunt Allison McLaughlin's house which is festooned with festive decorations.
Lennon said: "There is a snowman in the living room."
His aunt explained: "I love Christmas and there are decorations everywhere - outside and in. They go up straight after Halloween."
Lennon's smiling snowman captured Ms Docherty's heart and as a result will be used in her official festive greeting.

She said: "I really liked Lennon's bold and bright drawing. It is very seasonal and children love this time of year, especially if there is an opportunity to make a real snowman.
"It really is an outstanding card with the snowman wishing everyone a Merry Christmas."
The Lord Provost sends more than 500 cards to dignitaries and others across the world including the Queen.
A total of eight primary schools were invited to take part in the design competition.
