A pop-up shop has opened in the St Enoch Centre for runners to collect their race suits and numbers.

It is located on the first floor next to Debenhams and centre bosses will donate £1 to the Beatson Cancer Charity for everyone who signs up to its Rewards scheme.

First Bus has also offered runners in their race suits free travel to and from the event on Sunday December 11.

Lord Provost Sadie Docherty, who is running in this year’s event, said: “The Santa Dash has become a wonderful addition to Glasgow’s Christmas traditions that gives everyone the chance to run a route suited to them.

“If you are still thinking about taking part, please give it a go. It is a fantastic event supporting a cause close to many people’s hearts.”

Joyce Ross, corporate partnerships manager at Beatson Cancer Charity, said: “Christmas is a time to share with those closest to us and enjoy happy memories of times spent together.

“What better way to celebrate the festive season than by sporting a Santa suit and challenging yourself to run 5k along the streets of Glasgow while raising much-needed funds for such a worthwhile cause.”

All funds raised from the event will help the charity provide vital specialist staff posts including nursing, radiography, physics and research based staff.

The cash will also help fund enhanced medical equipment, innovative service developments and research projects to support the 8000 new patients and their families who attend the Beatson.
