AN initiative has been launched in East Renfrewshire to stop fraudsters preying on residents with dementia.
East Renfrewshire’s Prevention Team has been awarded £405,000 to fund the collaboration with Angus and South Ayrshire Council.

The money will go towards developing a preventative approach to protect people with dementia from financial exploitation. The project is aimed at offer an individualised, person-centred package to safeguard residents on the doorstep, by telephone, by mail or online.
If the scheme is successful, a good practice model will be developed which can be rolled out across Scotland.
