A SHAMED teacher has divorced her husband four years after she became embroiled in a sex scandal with a pupil.

Eppie Sprung Dawson, 30, and 36-year-old Ranald's split has been rubber-stamped by the courts, leaving her free to remarry.

Earlier this year, Ranald and his wife sold the £150,000 three-bed house they shared.

Their divorce was confirmed recently at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

A source told the Scottish Sun last night: “It would surely be hard for anyone to marry her given how quickly she betrayed her ex-husband.

"Still, she wants to be able to teach again despite committing a huge breach of trust by having a relationship with one of her pupils."

Sprung Dawson and Ranald were married in April 2010 however split after she was caught having an affair with Matthew Robinson, then 17.

The teacher lost her job at St Joseph's College, Dumfries over the affair however is fighting to return to the classroom. 

Ms Sprung Dawson was convicted of breaching a position of trust and struck off after she was caught in a compromising position with the pupil, following a school dance in December 2012.

She was placed on the sex offenders register and separated from her husband Ranald, son of former Solicitor General Lord Dawson.
