PLANS for a brand new street food market, craft centre and cafe at a trendy location in Finnieston have been unveiled.
The funky foodie hub will be based at The Hive, opposite Lewbowskis and will be built using stacked shipping containers.
A planning application shows detailed drawings at 1061 Argyle Street which sees the containers placed on top of each other, accessed via reclaimed timber staircases.
The application submitted to Glasgow City Council indicates that there will be a: "Use of land for siting of converted shipping containers to form produce market and craft centre and partial use of existing class 4 premises as cafe with associated external alterations to building."
Finnieston has seen a transformation over the years from former warehouse and dock lands into a trendy destination filled with bars, restaurants and live music venues.
It is one of the most up and coming areas of Glasgow and was named as the hippest place to live in the UK by The Times.
