A MAN has been jailed for 10 months after he made inappropriate sexual remarks at several women and under aged girls in Glasgow city centre.

Michael Swierczynski appeared from custody in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to two charges.

Swierczynski, 38, was aided through the court proceedings via an interpreter.

Swierczynski, of East Campbell Street, admitted that he intentionally directed sexual communications at five women on Midland Street on October 2.

His charge sheet states that he uttered inappropriate remarks towards them.

Swierczynski also targeted five teenage girls under the age of 16 during the same incident.

His youngest victim was 13.

He admitted that he also uttered inappropriate remarks of a sexual nature towards them.

His defence agent explained that his client plead guilty to the offence during the intermediate diet.

He was placed on the Sex Offenders Registers in the interim before his sentencing.

In a separate charge, however, Swierczynski accepted he did not meet the requirements of being on that register.

He therefore in addition plead guilty to his failure to comply to the notifications of the Sexual Offences Act 2013.

He accepted that between October 24 and 26, he failed to attend Cathcart Police Office on those dates.

He also failed to provide them with a suitable address.

The court also heard from his defence agent that Swierczynski has outstanding matters to be dealt with a Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

He was jailed for 6 months for the offence against several women and under age girls on Midland Street on October 2.

He was jailed a further four months for failing to comply with the Sex Offenders Register notification requirements.

The sentencing sheriff said: “I have imposed this sentence because of the gravity of these offences.”

He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years.
