A SERIAL pervert claims he is innocent after being jailed for groping three separate women on different occasions on Glasgow trains.

Christopher James Bruce McIlreavy was sentenced to seven months in prison at Glasgow Sheriff Court for the three sexual assaults which happened last year.

The 21-year-old was found guilty following a trial on October 17.

McIlreavy first victim was targeted on June 30, 2015 on board a train travelling from Lenzie to Queen Street station.

He was found guilty of sexually assaulting that woman by repeatedly touching her leg.

He then preyed on another woman on the same service on October 1, last year,

He sexually assaulted that woman by repeatedly touching her leg and bum.

His final victim was on board a service travelling from Glasgow Central to Rutherglen train station.

He repeatedly touched that woman on the bum during the service on November 5, last year.

His defence agent said that his client “ultimately accepts the decision” of the court but he maintains his innocence.

McIlreavy, of Balmoral Gardens, Falkirk, defence agent also told the court that his client had been in a relationship with his girlfriend for four years.

The couple lived with her mother and her mother’s partner, and he had been supported by them throughout the process.

His defence agent said: “His final position is he is innocent of these matters.”

McIlreavy, who is a sales assistant on a zero hours contract, had been living in the community with no further offending.

His defence agent during mitigation also outlined that his client had no previous convictions.

Sheriff Robert Dickson told McIlreavy: “I have no doubt you are a danger to young women.

“This case involved three separate offences on separate trains. You humiliated them further by forcing them to give evidence.”

In addition to a seven months prison sentence, McIllreavy was also placed under supervision for five months by Sheriff Dickson,

He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
