Actor Peter Vaughan has died today aged 93, his agent said.
The Britsh actor, who was born in Shropshire, is best known for his roles as Grouty in Porridge and Maester Aemon in Game of Thrones.
He also starred alongside Robert Lindsay in Citizen Smith, written by Only Fools and Horses writer John Sullivan and appeared in Zulu Dawn, Time Bandits and Brazil.
A statement from his agent, Sally Long-Innes, said: "This is to confirm that very sadly Peter Vaughan passed away at approximately 10.30 this morning.
"He died peacefully with his family around him."
