A COUPLE was left with serious injuries after an assault by a man which police are describing as a random attack.

The 29-year-old man and his girlfriend, 32, were targeted at around 12.30am on Sunday, December 4 while walking along Pacific Drive, near to the STV studios in Pacific Quay.

They were assaulted by a man who then made off.

The couple were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where both were treated for serious injuries. Both have since been released.

The suspect, who was believed to be with four women at the time of the assault, is described as white Scottish, 18 to 25 years of age and was wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Lynsey Havlin, Govan Police Office, is appealing for witnesses.

She said: “This would appear to be a random and unprovoked attack which left this couple seriously injured.

“Our enquiries have revealed that there was a number of vehicles in the area at the time of the assault and we are appealing for these drivers or anyone else who witnessed the incident to get in touch immediately.”
