COPS discovered a can of Fosters in a cup holder within a car after they followed and stopped a drunk driver.
Gregg Dillon, 21, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court after admitting he was more than four times over the limit on November 12 at Richmond Place in Rutherglen.
The court heard from the Procurator Fiscal depute that they followed the car as the driver was behaving suspicious.
When they stopped and approached the vehicle, they could smell alcohol coming from Dillon.
Sentencing sheriff Neil J MacKinnon banned Dillon, of St Mark’s Place, Surrey, from driving for three years.
He avoided jail and was placed under supervision for 12 months.
Dillon, who came to Glasgow for work, was also told to perform 166 hours of unpaid work in the community which is to be completed within six months.
