A PENSIONER who claimed benefits while working has been fined by a court.
Helen Crawford Nitu, 70, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to claiming money she was not entitled to.
Nitu, of Main Street, Bridgeton, claimed £2,500 of pension credit between August 11, 2011 and September 21, 2014.
She failed to let the Department of Work and Pensions know she was in employment.
Her defence agent Mr Dryden told the court that his client had began the process of paying the money back.
He also said that Nitu had never appeared before a court.
Sheriff Lindsay Wood fined Nitu £650 which was reduced from £800 due to her early plea.
