A DRUNK who climbed onto a roof and suggested he was going to throw himself off it has been told to do unpaid work in the community by a court.
Marc McAllister, 29, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to the incident which happened on Matha Street on September 25, 2015.
He accepted he climbed onto a building, ran across the roof and gestured as if he was going to throw himself off it.
He also caused damage by kicking a window in order to gain access to the roof.
In addition, he smashed a skylight and kicked a hole in the ceiling.
The court heard that McAllister, of Waddell Court, had too much too drink when he carried out the offence.
Sentencing Sheriff Kenneth Hogg told McAllister what he had done was “highly dangerous”.
He said: “When you have too much too drink you should not be climbing on a roof.”
He added that McAllister could have fallen off.
McAllister was placed under supervision for nine months and ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work in the community within three months.
