A SHOCKED community has paid tribute to a loving mother-of-two who was found dead in her Maryhill home.

Police said the death of the woman, who has been named locally as Kirsty Wylie, 36, is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers confirmed they were called to the woman’s home at around 3.05pm on Wednesday, January 4 at Glenfinnan Road within the Wyndford Estate.

It is understood that the woman’s baby daughter, who is almost two, was within the home when the body was discovered.

She is also survived by her other daughter Cameron who is a teenager.

In a post on the Evening Times Facebook about the discovery of the body, Cameron paid tribute saying: “Miss you mum.”

Susan Ann McLean said: “So sad. She was a nice girl who loved her kids.

“Our hearts go out to her daughters and family, was very fond of her.”

Lynne Green Brown paid tribute saying: “Well it’s true when they say it’s always the good and young that get took too soon.

“RIP my wee pal Kirsty, gone but not forgotten.

“Remembering the good old days together, fly high babes.”

Neighbours in the Wyndford Estate also spoke about their shock over the death as floral tributes were laid outside the property.

One woman, who did not want to be named, said: “She has lived here for several years and she would never walk past you without saying hello.

“It is so sad especially after Christmas and the New Year.

“People have been talking but at the end of the day we need to let the police do their job and find out what happened to her.”

Two police officers guarded the family home and residents said that officers had been based in front of the property since the body was discovered over two days ago.

Two police officers with clip boards also conducted door-to-door enquiries in a bid to find out how the woman died.

Neighbours surrounding the property were questioned as officers continued their investigations.

Police Scotland confirmed that a post mortem examination revealed that the death is not suspicious.

They, however, said that they will investigate how the young mum died.

A Police Scotland spokesman added: “Enquiries are ongoing.”
