Milngavie fire murder victim Cameron Logan may have been doused in petrol and set alight inside his family home, it has been claimed.

Murder dectectives, who remain at the property, are said to be investigating whether the killer might have attacked the 23-year-old while he slept on the living room floor, according to The Scottish Sun.

His girlfriend Bex Williams, 24, was pulled from the fire by brave neighbours and Cameron's father.

She remains in hospital where her condition is described as stable.

David Logan and Cathy Logan, both 54, suffered smoke inhalation.

The fire also claimed the life of the family dog Gomez.

It is understood Cameron's older brother Blair, 26, was out jogging at the time.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said investigating officers are following several lines of enquiry and there are no plans to release further information at this stage.
