A MAN who was slashed in the head ended up struggling violently with five police officers after they tried to help him.

Kieran Rooney, 21, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court after he also accepted he lashed out with his arms and legs at the officers.

He was slashed on New Dyke Road, Kirkintilloch on December 9 and an ambulance was called.

Rooney, of Woodstock Avenue, was heavily intoxicated and he told the officers who arrived first to “get to f**k” when they tried to help him.
