A BANNED Kilsyth haulier has been issued with another lifetime disqualification by Scotland’s Traffic Commissioner.
William Davidson was already subject to a six year ban from the industry in his role as director of Chillin Transport Ltd which was implemented in 2015.
The extension of that order follows a public inquiry in December, which led Scotland’s Traffic Commissioner Joan Aitken to conclude that he had reached a point where it was “crystal clear” there were no redeeming features.
She added that he could not be trusted, would exploit and use others. and had been “shameless” in his dealings with the licensing regime.
Her decision follows evidence that an operator’s licence held by John L Campbell Ltd was sold to another party, Lynne Smith, but ultimately controlled by William Davidson, even though he was disqualified from running vehicles.
Miss Aitken said it would be perverse not to find that Lynne Smith had acted as a front for William Davidson.
Lynne Smith, who did not attend the public inquiry in her capacity as director of John L Campbell Ltd.
She was, however, also disqualified indefinitely by the Traffic Commissioner.
