Police investigating the murder of Cameron Logan and attempted murder of three people in a Glasgow suburb say they are following a definite line of inquiry.

The 23-year-old’s body was discovered by police at his family's home on Achray Place, Milngavie following the fire at around 7.25am on New Year’s Day.

Cameron’s 24-year-old girlfriend Bex Williams was taken to hospital. His parents David and Cathy, both 54, were treated in hospital for smoke inhalation and have since been released.

Police Scotland confirmed today that they are now following a definite line of inquiry almost two weeks after they first launched their investigation.

Police were called to the fire in Achray Place at 7.25am on January 1 and have confirmed it was a deliberate act which is being treated as murder and attempted murder.

A number of appeals have been made to trace dog walkers and joggers in the area around the time of the fire.

Police have carried out door-to-door inquiries, checked CCTV footage in the area and interviewed people from the party the couple had attended.

Officers have also been looking for any information on a dark-coloured car seen parked in a lay-by on Craigton Road with its engine running and door open around the time of the incident.

Ms Williams, a broadcast journalist with Global Radio, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow initially in a critical condition. She is now said to be in a stable condition.
